Garnier – Aloe Vera Hair Food

Hey everyone, in today’s post I’ll be talking about a relatively new product I have been using over the past few weeks. So far I really enjoyed using it and want to share my thoughts with you all.

When first looking at this, you might ask yourself “What is it?”. A hair food is basically a 3-in-1 haircare product by Garnier. The hair foods currently come in five different scents, each having a different purpose in caring for you hair. The scents currently available are: Aloe Vera, Banana, Goji, Papaya and Macadamia.

As I already said, it is a 3-in-1 product so you can use it in three different ways. First of all you can use it as a regular conditioner. Secondly, you can use it as a hair mask. Thirdly you can use it as a leave-in conditioner.

What I love about the hair foods is that they are 98% of natural origin so you won’t really find anything ‘bad’ in them. The hair foods don’t contain any silicon and are even VEGAN!

The Aloe Vera hair food is specificaly targeted at normal to dry hair, which is just perfect for me. Usually I wash my hair every other day and even though the hair foods contain a lot of vegetable oils, they don’t make my hair greasy whatsoever.

Over the past couple of weeks I’ve used the hair food mainly in the shower, so as a conditioner or as a hair mask. I haven’t used it as a leave- in conditioner since that isn’t a type of treatment I prefer to use in my routine. However, if you do like it, you can even choose to use it on either wet or dry hair after you got out of the shower!

After using it as a conditioner and rinsing my hair, my hair immediately detangled. Normally I have to brush my hair before getting in the shower, otherwise there is no way I would be able to comb through those knots after getting out of the shower. My hair also felt and looked very soft and the calming aloe scent stuck to my hair throughout the day.

When using it as a mask, I just switched up my normal shower routine and did shampoo first, then spread out the mask all over my hair and left my body washing for last. The time it took to scrub and wash my body was long enough for the hair mask to thoroughly do its work. After rinsing it out and letting my hair dry, my hair looked very well cared for, didn’t have any tangles in it and felt super soft. The lovely scent too kept lingering way up until the end of the day.

If you’re looking for an all-in hair treatment, I would highly recommend using a hair food. It doesn’t necessarily need to be the Aloe Vera one, just pick one that suits your hairs needs.

The hair foods are perfect for when you have little shower time (conditioner/ leave-in conditioner) or when you really want to treat yourself (hair mask).

These tubs are also pretty big and contain a lot of product. As with most products, I tend to use way more than actually needed but I can say you really don’t need a lot for it to do its thing.

One of these big boys only costs €7,29 at Di Beauty (Belgium) and will last you a very long while.

Since I received all hair foods thanks to a giveaway I entered, I will be reviewing the other ones too in the future. But first, I’ll work my way through this one.
